A long time ago in ancient Ireland there lived a man called Oisín. He was one of the Fianna and his father was Fionn MacCumhail.

One day Oisín fell in love with a beautiful princess called Niamh. She came from Tír na nÓg a land where people don’t grow old.

Niamh brought Oisín to Tír na nÓg on a magic white stallion. Oisín lived there happily with Niamh.

Eventually Oisín wanted to go back to Ireland to see his friends and family. Niamh lent him her magic horse but she said: “If you put a foot on the ground you’ll turn old”.

When Oisín got to Ireland he found that his friends and family were long gone. He traveled through the valley of Glenasmole.

He met some men who were trying to move a really big heavy rock. He said he would help them, he reached down from the horse and moved the rock.

Unfortunately, Oisín fell off the horse as he was helping. As his feet touched the ground the men were amazed to see him age about three hundred years in a few seconds.
