A beautiful day for our final Forest School session of the year. To celebrate all of the wonderful work the children have done in Forest School, we toasted marshmallows, made s’mores and enjoyed some relaxed time together outdoors. A huge thank you to Ruairi, our Forest School leader, for all of his time, care and work with us this year. We have loved learning outdoors and look forward to continuing our outdoor learning journey next year.

🎓✨ A very special day as we celebrated our wonderful 6th Class graduation. Our students shared a fantastic rap about their time in Glenasmole, recited a beautiful poem, and read treasured memories from their years in primary school. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and a few happy tears as we reflected on how much they have grown. We are so proud of each and every one of them and all they have achieved. As they move on to the next chapter, we wish them every success and happiness for the future. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and families for your unwavering support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the years. Your support has played such an important role in helping our students reach this milestone. Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🌟🎓 #6thClassGraduation #Glenasmole #ProudMoment #classof2026🎓📚✏️

Another wonderful Forest Schools session today 🌿 The children made their own ladder and climbed trees, created beautiful natural prints using flowers, fabric and Japanese inspired art techniques, kept the campfire going, and worked together on their huts. It was a brilliant day of creativity, teamwork, problem solving and learning outdoors.

We are very proud to have received our Curious Minds Gold Award for 2025/2026. This award recognises the deep engagement with STEM learning and teaching taking place in our school. The judges commented on the huge amount of STEM work carried out in our school this year, as well as our comprehensive experiment log, the children’s enjoyment of their activities, our technology work, our wellbeing video series and the Student Council’s campaign. They were also impressed by the way our pupils shared their learning with other young people through events such as our Science Fair and Science Blast. We are so proud of our children for their curiosity, creativity, problem solving and teamwork, and of our staff for the wonderful learning experiences they provide. A huge well done to everyone involved. Keep up the fantastic work!

What an action packed day for our senior class on their school tour to Baltinglass Outdoor Adventure Centre! The children had a brilliant time taking on ziplining, abseiling, kayaking and lots of outdoor adventure activities. It was fantastic to see them encouraging each other, trying new things and throwing themselves into every challenge with such great enthusiasm. There were even a few brave teachers joining in too! A wonderful day out for everyone.

While the rest of the school were on their sponsored walk, the junior and senior infants took part in their own laps around the yard. The children laughed, ran with friends and enjoyed the sunshine while taking part for our outdoor classroom area 🏃♂️🏃♀️

What a lovely morning we had for our Sponsored Walk! The children were absolutely brilliant and walked at an incredible pace, chatting, laughing and enjoying the morning together. We finished up at @goughies_coffee for a very well earned lunch break, with the chickens providing great entertainment too! A huge well done to all of the children. They took it all in their stride and made it look easy. There is still time to sponsor us as we continue fundraising for our outdoor classroom. https://www.idonate.ie/cause/glenasmolenationalschool Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far. It really means so much to our school.

What a fantastic day on our school trip to St Enda’s Park! 🚌🌳 We travelled on the Dublin Bus and enjoyed a fascinating history tour of the Pearse Museum. A huge thank you to our amazing tour guide, Shannon, who made the experience so engaging and enjoyable for everyone. ⭐ The children also visited the Nature Room, where they learned about and saw lots of different types of animals. They enjoyed reading all about them and taking part in a variety of creative art activities inspired by what they discovered. 🎨🦊 Afterwards, we had a lovely picnic outside in the sunshine before spending the afternoon playing football and badminton, exploring among the trees, and enjoying all that the park has to offer. ⚽🏸🌲 A wonderful day full of learning, creativity, nature, and fun memories! 💚 #OutdoorLearning #NatureExplorers #LearningThroughPlay
