Welcome to Glenasmole National School

As the proud principal of Glenasmole National School, I am delighted to welcome you to our wonderful school, nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Dublin Mountains.

Glenasmole N.S. is a small school with a very big heart. Our size is one of our greatest strengths. It allows us to know every child well, to build strong relationships, and to create a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe, happy and valued.

At Glenasmole, we have high standards for teaching, learning and behaviour. We want every child to do their very best, to grow in confidence, to develop a real love of learning, and to reach their fullest potential. Our three multi grade classrooms provide a rich and caring setting where children learn from one another, build independence, and develop strong social skills.

We are very proud of the broad and creative education we offer. Alongside strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum, our pupils have opportunities to take part in music, drama, creative arts, outdoor learning, Green Schools, Active Schools, STEM, wellbeing initiatives and many other meaningful learning experiences. We believe education should develop the whole child, academically, socially, emotionally and creatively.

Relationships are at the heart of our school. Children are encouraged to use their voice, take responsibility and contribute to school life through initiatives such as our Student Council, Green Schools Committee and Active Schools work. We place great value on kindness, respect, connection and belonging.

Our school community is built on strong partnership. We work closely with parents, our Board of Management, our Parents’ Association and the wider local community to create the best possible experience for our pupils. Ní neart go cur le chéile. There is strength in working together, and this spirit is very much alive in Glenasmole.

None of this would be possible without our dedicated staff, who bring care, creativity, expertise and enthusiasm to their work every day. I am deeply grateful for the commitment they show to the children and to our school.

To prospective pupils and families, I warmly invite you to learn more about Glenasmole National School. We are very proud of our school, our children and our community, and we would be delighted to welcome you.

Ms. Brennan
Principal, Glenasmole National School
