Parents’ Association
The Parents’ Association committee of Glenasmole NS is a group of parents/guardians who volunteer their time and support to enhance the life of the children in Glenasmole.
The PA committee meet once or twice each school term to discuss fundraising ideas, suggestions, and projects. We currently have 7 committee members.
Any parent is welcome to join the committee by coming along to the meeting or by getting in touch with us.
One of the Parents’ Association’s roles is to help raise funds that contribute financially with the provision of extra equipment and teaching aids identified by the school and parents, and approved by the Board of Management.
Although the PA may organise many activities, these activities should all assist the association to achieve its two main roles within the school:
- To work in partnership with the principal, Board of Management and the whole school community for the betterment of the children in the school.
- To support and empower parents to be active in the best interest of their children’s educational lives.

We would love to hear from any parent and the committee would extend a warm welcome to more helping hands!

Parental Involvement
We value strong relationships with parents and encourage parents to become involved in school life in a variety of ways. Parents’ views are very important to us, and we welcome open communication between home and school.
Parents are regularly invited to take part in school activities such as Shared Reading and Maths, storytelling, music sessions and special classroom events.
Parents also play an important role in whole school initiatives, including our Green Schools Committee and our school garden project. Throughout the year, parents are invited to join us for events such as Sports Day, fundraising events, celebrations, concerts, Green Schools activities and Science events.
Where possible, we aim to give plenty of notice for school events, and we are always delighted to welcome parents, relatives and members of the wider community into the school.
At Glenasmole National School, we truly value the support, time and generosity of our parents. Together, we help create a warm, welcoming and vibrant school community for all our children.
