This week Junior & Senior Infants focused on the theme of Easter. We took part in an Easter themed Maths trail. We searched the school grounds for Easter eggs, and matched numbers and maths symbols together. We also revised our colours in Irish using a fun colour by numbers Easter Egg. 3rd and 4th Class have been doing lots of art on the run up to the Christmas holidays. The children made Christmas tree decorations, painted Christmas trees, created snow globes with chalk pastels and completed negative/positive space Christmas art as well. 1st and 2nd Class have been covering the theme of animals across a number of their subjects this term. The children designed and created their own animal puppets. They came up with a group story for their puppets. They also created scenes for their stories and had lots of fun acting their stories out.

For art, 3rd and 4th Class explored drawing from observation and were given the opportunity to draw various kinds of fruit! We sketched pineapples, watermelons, coconuts and lots more. We focused mainly on shading and how it its used to create a 3D effect. Check out the class completing their excellent pieces of art!
